The purpose of the Best Poster/Free Communication Young Investigator Awards is to encourage scientists to display outstanding presentations of their work during the EFSMA 2009 Congress.

The awards will be addressed into two categories;
1) (DON-JOY) Traumatology, orthopaedics, physical medicine and sportive rehabilitation, and
2) (BAYER) Sports medicine, internal medicine, sports cardiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition etc.

Together with a Certificate, an award (500,00 Euros) will be assigned to the winners of each categories (two posters and two oral presentation). The applicants are required to be sport physicians under the age of 40. The candidates' applications have to be certified by the President of the National Association of Sports Medicine or of the NOC to which he/she belonges to and/or verified by an appointed person from the EFSMA Executive Committee. Furthermore, a statement confirming that the applicant is personally involved as an author in the scientific contribution submitted for presentation should be forwarded along with application (simply by ticking the appropriate box during on-line registration/application).

All the abstracts should be sent before the deadline indicated in the programme, and prepared according to the guidelines specified in the abstract submission form.

A Young Investigator Awards Committee composed by 5 members of the EFSMA Executive Committee and by 2 representatives of the Congress Scientific Committee shall evaluate the presentations and make the final decision on the assignment of the award after the presentations.

The scheduled time for the presentations of the YIA scientific contributions will be notified in the final programme of the Congress.
